Chinese Lettuce Wraps for Armor Elementary's 3rd & 4th Graders

Even though we are in the throes of winter dormancy for The Giving Garden, S.O.L.E. is actively involved in engaging students in nutritious and delicious classroom tastings.  Like the tasting of Chinese Lettuce Wraps we held in December for two elementary level classes.  We took a food journey to China learning some geography, history and culture as well as all the nutritious benefits of fresh green leafy lettuce, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and sweet orange and red bell peppers topped with Organic Hidden Valley Ranch.  The students enjoyed the tastings and we all had a few laughs while taking our tastebuds on an adventure.  The students completed a writing assignment after the tasting and the letters are truly keepsakes!  One student wrote, " Thank you, thank you, thank you for those amazing lettuce wraps.  I really enjoyed the Chinese Lettuce Wraps.  At first I didn't think it would be that good, but...I loved it even though it's something I've never heard of.  Just to let you know they were delicious!!!"
